The Japanese Respiratory Society (JRS) has currently approximately 12,000 members. Since Annual Meeting of 2001, the JRS began integrating international programs, which have been continuing with exchange and liaison with the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology, the American Thoracic Society and the European Respiratory Society. The 10 JRS assemblies have been working actively. “Respiratory Investigation” is an official journal, published in English. The journal accepts contributions from nonmembers.
