This session will discuss the etiology, diagnosis, management, and prognosis of neurologic disasters occurring in the course of critical medical illnesses. The topics to be covered include septic encephalopathy, intracranial hemorrhage in coagulopathic or hypertensive patients, hypertensive encephalopathy and PRES, CNS infections, seizures and status epilepticus, hypothermia for cardiac arrest, prognostication in nontraumatic coma, and the declaration of brain death.
