Description

Curiosity is a core component of the practice of medicine, but skills necessary to engage in inquisitive and skeptical inquiry are rarely explicitly taught in medical education. This session will explore specific, concrete techniques for encouraging, teaching, and fostering curiosity in medical learners in interprofessional health care teams. Components of curiosity will be defined, evidence for promoting constructive curiosity will be explored, and concrete steps for implementing best practices in fostering curiosity in medical learners will be imparted on session participants.
